PM: (PM invites US business community to invest in Pakistan)

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has invited the US business community to invest in Pakistan and take advantage of lucrative and attractive investment opportunities.

He was speaking at a luncheon hosted in honour of the US-Pakistan Business Council delegation here on Thursday. The Prime Minister said the US remains one of the most important economic and trading partners of Pakistan.

He said leading US companies have invested billions of dollars and are making healthy profits. Apprising the delegation about the country’s economic achievements, the Prime Minister said our GDP has grown by 4.26 percent last year.

He said leading international publications and rating agencies have acknowledged Pakistan’s outstanding economic performance.

He said overcoming energy shortages remains one of the key priorities of the government and we intend to add ten thousand megawatt of power to the national grid by 2017.

He said recently launched 46 billion dollars China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project is a mark of growing confidence in Pakistan’s economy and its future potential. This project will spur economic growth in the entire region. Turning to its foreign policy, Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan seeks good relations with all its neighbours for peace and stability in the region.
