PM: (PM leaves for Sri Lanka today)

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will pay a three-day official visit to Sri Lanka from today (Monday) at the invitation of the Sri Lankan President.

During the visit, he will meet Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries. Sri Lankan President will host a state banquet in honour of the Prime Minister.

A number of MOUs and Agreements of cooperation in various fields would be signed after the talks. The Prime Minister will also address a gathering of Ministers, Parliamentarians, Senior Officials, top Business Persons and members of the Diplomatic corps.

Pakistan High Commission in Colombo in a statement on Sunday said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be accompanied by a high level delegation.

He said that Mohammad Nawaz Sharif and Begum Kalsoom Nawaz Sharif will be welcomed on their arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport by Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The official welcome ceremony presided by President of Sri Lanka will be held on Tuesday at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.

On the invitation of the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies, Nawaz Sharif will deliver a special lecture.
