ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif has said that loadshedding will be overcome during the present government’s tenure.
He was addressing a public gathering after inaugurating the renovated building of General Post Office Murree on Tuesday. The Prime Minister said the promises of development made to the people of Murree will be fulfilled during the next two and half years.
He announced construction of a hospital and university equipped with modern machinery and facilities. He said a water supply plan has been prepared for the area, and the shortage in this regard will be overcome. He also directed to ensure supply to gas to every house in Murree.
The Prime Minister said he himself would supervise the development projects in Murree and also ensure provision of the required funds. Referring to the programme of restoring the natural beauty of Murree, he said the renovated building of Murree is a model for other historical heritage in the area. He said the heritage of Mall Road Murree will also be protected.
Earlier, the Prime Minister inaugurated the renovated building of GPO Murree. He inspected different parts of the building and the postal museum. He was briefed about the building. The GPO Murree building has been restored in its original shape of 1930 after the renovation.
The restoration of the building is part of the prime minister’s package to beautify the natural beauty of Murree, and it is a gift for the residents and the tourists.
Meanwhile, a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Murree reviewed development projects in Murree. It was attended by Federal Ministers, Pervaiz Rashid, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Punjab Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar. Hamza Shahbaz and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Dr. Asif Kirmani were also present in the meeting.
