Peshawar: Peshawar Martial Arts Centre(PMAC) won the inter district judo championship while Academy of Judo (AJ) and Ashiq Judo Academy (AJA) remained successful in getting second and third position respectively.
The two day championship organized by Peshawar Judo Association in collaboration with District Sports Officer (DSO) at Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Coaching Centre.
Almost 60 male and female players from different registered clubs of the district made their participation in which PMAC got three gold medals with first position while AJ with a gold and two silver and AJA with a silver and three bronze medals received second and third position.
Qasim of PMAC got gold medal in -30kg competition, Salman of AJ awarded with silver and Abdullah of PMAC gained bronze medal. similarly, in 40kg fighting, Osama of PMAC won gold medal, Salman Khan of City Judo Karate Centre (CJKC) silver and Abdullah of AJA got bronze medal.
However, Rashid of PMAC received first position in 50kg contest, Hussain Ali of Academy of Martial second and Hamza of Hayatabad Defence Centre awarded with third position. Though in 60kg competition of the tournament, Akbar of PMAC met with gold, Farhad Ali of Peshawar Martial Arts Academy silver and Javed of AJA won bronze medal.
Meanwhile in open weight fighting Hijrat got first, Bashir second and Imran third position, while in female open weight competition Aqsa won gold medal, Sumera Ameen silver, Bushra Afzal bronze medal and Asma met with 4th position.
Qamar Zaman, General Secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association (KPOA) and former world squash champion, Rashida Ghaznavi, Director KP Sports Board, foreign Iranian coach Sajjad Kazmi, Muhib Ullah Khan, Director PSB Coaching Centre and Masood Ahmad were guests of the closing ceremony who distributed trophies and medals among the winner players.
