Lahore: PML-N government is taking all sincere efforts to put the country on the path of progress & prosperity and days are not far when Pakistan would be standing tall in the developed nations, said PML-N Lahore President and MNA Mohammad Pervez Malik while talking to a delegation of industrialists on Tuesday.
Pervez Malik said that Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif want to make Pakistan “Asian Tiger” and hub of trade and economic activities. He said that recent discovery of huge minerals in Chiniot is a blessing of Almighty Allah. These resources would certainly help Pakistan to start a new journey towards self-reliance.
“Government and Armed Forces are committed to get rid of the menace of terrorism and all resources are being utilized to achieve the targets”, Pervez Malik added.
He said that energy crisis is inherited but PML-N government had devoted all its resources for early solution of the issue of energy shortage. He said that all sectors of economy are being focused in a winsome manner and international agencies are admiring the efforts of Nawaz Sharif government.
He said several projects in collaboration with China are well on the way of construction. He said the water projects would also help produce cheap energy to meet future needs of the country.
Pervez Malik said that improvement of living standard of the people is one of the priorities of the government and repeated cuts in petroleum prices is an ample proof of the present regime’s efforts in this regard.
He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had launched a number of programs which would generate thousands of jobs and strengthen the economy.
He said, “Those who are creating a scene by giving an impression of a big political alliance are living in a fool’s paradise. Rejected politicians can’t succeed.”
He said that government has already initiated meaningful discourse with the private sector to boost up Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) that is not up to the mark.
He said that rising risk perception about investing into Pakistan is hitting hard the entire economy but government is tackling the issue through a comprehensive policy approach by involving Chambers of Commerce in the country.
Pervez Malik said that government was solving all key issues including energy crisis on priority basis and various power projects were in the pipeline.
He expressed the hope that employment opportunities would increase following an increase in business activities, adding that once the country’s economy is put on the trajectory of growth it would have a consequential impact on inflation. “Market competition will increase; resultantly products prices will come down and their quality will improve with new investment in different sectors.”
