PML-Q begins four-day Independence Day celebrations

Karachi: Pakistan Muslim League Sindh chapter here on Monday began its four-day celebrations for the Independence Day, 14th August, to rejoice the national day in a befitting manner.

On the instructions of PML Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh a big bus decorated with the national flags, burnings and portraits of the founders of Pakistan reached the Karachi Press Club (KPC) to begin the four-day celebrations. A large number of PML leaders, including leaders of Youth Wing, Labour Wing, Ladies Wing, Cultural Wing, Minorities Wing, Ulema Wing, Lawyers Wing and other forums boarded the bus to visit different parts of the city. The bus would march on different roads and the leaders would distribute the national flags amongst citizens. A truck also decorated with the national flags is the part of this convoy that is playing national songs and tunes.

PML Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh began the celebrations at the KPC by presenting the national flag to KPC president Fazil Jameeli and general secretary A H Khanzada. He invited media friends to join the celebrations. On the occasion Karachi Tajir Ittehad leader Atiq Mir, Rotary Club governor Jahangir Mughal and social leader Ayaz Motiwala were also present.

Talking to civil society members and citizens outside the KPC, Sheikh said we obtained this country after great sacrifices. He said the day of the 14th August is the day of realizations of our dreams and vision. We should remember the solidarity and unity of the country on this day. He said today masses are decorating their homes, streets and localities with the green national flags to celebrate the independence.

He said only those people could truly know the real importance of the independence who have laid sacrifices for it. He said a large number of our elders gave sacrifices for Pakistan. He said all leaders and workers of political and social organizations and parties should shun their petty differences and think in the larger interest of the nation and country and forge unity and brotherhood.

On the occasion, PML leaders Naeem Adil Sheikh, Abdul Latif Ring, Irshad Qaimkhani, Kashif Nizami, Rana Zulfiqar and others were present.
