ISLAMABAD: The government has devised a comprehensive plan to impart six-month training to 25,000 youth in different trades under Prime Minister’s Youth Skills Development Programme (PMYSDP).
According to a senior official, under the plan youth up to the age of twenty-five with minimum qualification of middle would be given training by National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC).
The total cost of the programme is eight hundred million rupees. An amount of four hundred and fifty million rupees has been disbursed to NAVTTC in the first phase. The emphasis will be placed on trades which are in demanded abroad or those that enable graduates to become self-employed.
