Police asked to be vigilant in market areas

Karachi: Home secretary Dr. Niaz Ali Abbasi has said that in the light of the previous record, the possibility of incidents of street crimes particularly purse/mobile snatching and also bank robbery/dacoity may increase during the holy month of Ramzan.

In a letter addressed to Additional Inspector General Police Karachi the Home Secretary said that it was felt necessary that fool-proof security measures should be adopted in and around shopping malls, markets and banks to avoid such incidents.

The private security agencies shall also be instructed that their guards shall remain alert at business centers and financial institutions etc.

Dr. Abbasi further said that special measures and deployment of personnel will not only discourage the criminals to strike at the public places but also be helpful to nab the outlaws on the spot.
