Police capture two extortionists

KARACHI: Police claimed to have arrested two extortionists in Ittehad Town, here on Thursday.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Baldia Town Sajid Amir Sadozai said that two extortionists – Hassan Zaib, son of Muhammad Zaib, and Ajab Khan, son of Tareen Khan – were arrested in a raid within the limits of Ittehad Town.

SP said that accused had demanded Rs 1 million from a businessman and threatened to kill him and his family.

The police have registered a case against detainee under sections 384, 385, 34, and 7ATA, he said.

Two pistols with bullets and cell-phone with subscriber identity module (SIM) used for demanding extortion were also recovered from the possession of arrested extortionists, SP said.
