Police overpower four bandits in encounter near Sukkur

KHAIRPUR: Police claimed to have arrested four bandits, three of them in injured condition, after an encounter with them in Babarloi town near Sukkur on Sunday.

According to police, four bandits were looting passengers of different vehicles on the National Highway in Babarloi when a police party reached there during patrolling. Seeing police, the bandits opened fire on them. The police also fired back. The police overpowered four bandits, three of them in injured condition.

The police also claimed to have recovered two grenades, three Kalashnikovs and some bullets from the possession of the arrested accused. The police said that the accused were wanted in crimes cases. However, three criminals managed to flee under the cover of the fire.
