Politics: (PTI challenges Ayaz Sadiq’s eligibility in ECP to contest from NA-122)

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday challenged former National Assembly (NA) speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s eligibility in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to contest election from NA-122.

PTI’s candidate Shoaib Siddiqui challenged Sadiq’s eligibility as election candidate for NA-122 constituency in the ECP. The plea filed in the ECP states that Sadiq was fined at least Rs 25 lac, however, he neither paid the fine nor got stay from the court.

The petition further states that Sadiq is not eligible under Article 62 and Article 63 of the Constitution. The plea requests the ECP to declare Sadiq ineligible to contest the election.
