KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman holds Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and its provincial government responsible for lawlessness in Karachi, particularly in Lyari, as the area is considered a stronghold of PPP.
He expressed these views during his visit to Lyari and Mowachh Goth areas. JI Karachi General Secretary Abdul Wahab, Information Secretary JI Karachi Zahid Askari, former JI MNA Laeeq Khan and others accompanied the JI Karachi Chief.
During his visit, Hafiz Naeem met with the affected families of Lyari and Mowachh Goth and expressed his condolence to the bereaved families.
The JI leaders also visited the residence of World recognized boxer Shoaib Jaan, Ismail, Javed, Faisal, Taj Muhammad, who gunned down by Lyari gang war elements.
On the occasion, Hafiz Naeem regretted that the innocent people including women and children have been killed in Lyari between the gang wars of rivalry groups.
“Although, Lyari is supposed to be a stronghold area of PPP, but the provincial government is remained its lips tight over the deteriorated law and order situation and killing of innocent people in Lyari”, he added.
JI Karachi chief welcomed the notice taken by Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, over deteriorated law and order situation in Lyari, however; he urged the Prime Minister to take effective measures in this regard.
On the occasion, Hafiz Naeem demanded of the federal government to take decisive step in order to eliminate the gang war elements from Lyari and review the strategy regarding the ongoing targeted operation in Karachi.
