PPP opposes action against locality on railway land

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Karachi President Syed Najmi Alam said on Thursday that Karachiites have rejected the negative policies of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N). He said in Sindh there is an anti corruption department taking action against corrupt elements. He said the PPP does not support any person involved corruption scandals.

Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club, he said if the accountability process has to start then the federal government should initiate it from the top. He said the Nawaz government repeatedly has ‘attacked’ Sindh government through federal agencies which is condemnable act.

Alam said bothering innocent people under the guise of political revenge is not fair. He said railway authority is planning to displace the supporters of PPP residing in Hazara Colony Ward no 6, situated near railway track over ‘Pakistan Railway lands’ at Kala Pul, Karachi. He said the colony is 60 years old and it is leased by former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.

PPP leader said some time ago this area was bastion of PML-N but after the recent LB elections in cantonment areas PPP supported councillors won the elections with majority.

He said Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq should restrain to raze constructions here. He said Chief Minister has also been informed about matter.
