LORALAI: Ascertaining priorities of people and taking their opinions prior to budget is a good move and it is hoped that people’s priorities would be kept in view at the coming budget.
These views were expressed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Loralai Mohammad Aslam Soomro while addressing one day workshop on Pre-Budget Consultative Workshop 2015-2016 here.
Workshop was jointly organised by Governance support Project, P&D Department, Finance Department on preparation of provincial budget.
He said opinion of people from different walks of life would pinpoint basic problems of people at the coming budget and help resolve these problems. He said this would increase people’s sense of inclusion and transparency would also flourish. To apprise people of budget and telling them how it is prepared and affect what sectors is a best process.
IT and Communication Officer Governance Support Programme Tariq Khan said that Governance Support Programme is multi donor project is run under supervision of World Bank for improving people’s service process and increasing government sector organisations.
Monitoring Officer P&D department said that today people and their representatives are present and it is best occasion people should place their priorities before their representatives so that these representatives could also know what their priorities are.
