President: (Presidents administers oath to new CJP)

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath of office to Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali as Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) at an impressive ceremony held here at Aiwan-e-Sadr, on Thursday.

Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif was also present on the occasion. Governors of Punjab and Gilgit Baltistan, Chief Ministers of Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Federal Ministers, Services Chiefs, Parliamentarians, diplomats, judges of the Supreme Court, former Chief Justices of the Supreme Court and high officials attended the oath-taking ceremony.

Later, Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali called on President Mamnoon Hussain. The President congratulated him on his appointment as Chief Justice of Pakistan and wished him well in discharge of his new responsibilities. The entire oath taking ceremony and the oath was conducted and administered in national language Urdu.
