Prime Minister launches Qarz-e-Hasna scheme

Islamabad: Under the umbrella of Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has launched Qarz-e-Hasna scheme in Islamabad on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that under the scheme, 250,000 loans will be disbursed among deserving people this year while 1,000,000 (one million) loans will be given away during the next four years. He said upper limit of the interest-free loan has been fixed at 50,000 fifty thousand rupees. Every person can get loan from Rs10,000 to Rs50,000 for small businesses.

The Prime Minister said 50 per cent loans will be given to women. The Prime Minister said we want that women should come forward and play their role in the development of the country.

Nawaz Sharif said we will serve the nation without any discrimination and the loans will be provided irrespective of any political affiliation. He said our agenda is the development and prosperity of the country.

He said Lahore-Karachi Motorway project will be a pride for Pakistan. He said work on Gwadar to Kashgar Expressway will be started soon. The Prime Minister pointed out that there is a need of 10 big dams in the country.

He said Dasu hydel power project is being executed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at a cost of billions of rupees.  He said Bhasha dam will also be constructed which will be bigger than those of Mangla and Tarbela.

Nawaz Sharif said the PML (N) is pursuing the agenda of economic progress of the country. He said it is his desire that the country should become self-sufficient in power generation and its prices should also be curtailed.
