Private firm given Rs100mn to run 3 govt schools

KARACHI: Sindh government has given a hefty amount of Rs100million to a private firm M/s Book Group to run three government schools in district Khairpur, Sindh senior minister for education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro told Sindh Assembly previous day.

Answering to a short notice question of Nusrat Bano Seher Abbassi, he said Rs100million is given as a grant to M/s Book Group under the public private partnership. The government would also provide all required staff and facilities to the schools; however, these schools would be run under the management of the private firm.

The three schools are the Naz Pilot Secondary School, Govt Shah Latif Boys Primary School and Govt Shah Latif Girls Primary School.
