Karachi: A group of special people continued their protest outside the Karachi Press Club (KCP) on consecutive 53th day here on Monday. They are demanding that the government should give them jobs on the quota for special people.
A special person Rafique Ahmed Bupar told PPI that they have been protesting for 53 days but the government has yet to consider their just demand of providing them government jobs as per their quota.
A special woman from Hyderabad Ms Rubina demanded that the government should take immediate notice of their genuine demands. She said she had left her four children under custody of her old mother-in-law. She said her husband is paralyzed and in bed for last two years. She said one of her sons sells tea at Hyderabad railway stations for their livelihood.
“The peaceful protests for to be equally treated with equal rights in the system will be continued till accomplishment of demands” said outside the KPC who left his home town round about 53-day long protest.
The special people said they already met with many parliamentarians including Sindh Education Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Senator Rehman Malik, and Sheri Rehman. They said Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad on his recent visit to Karachi Press Club had also assured them to resolve their problems. They said, however, so far their problems stay and the government has not taken any step to resolve them.
