PTF to conduct trials from Dec 28 ahead of South Asian Games

Karachi: Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) will hold trials to select men and women tennis teams for the South Asian Games to be held next year in India.

In order to select men’s team, trials will start from December 28 at PSB/PTF hard courts. PTF has Invited Mohammad Abid Mushtaq ,Shehzad Khan,Yasir Khan, Heera Ashiq,,Ahmed Chaudhry, Mudassir Murtaza and Usman Rafiq for the trials.

The criteria for the trial will be round robin format best of three set matches.

The trials for the women’s team will start on December 31. Sara Mansoor, Sarah Mahboob Khan, Ushna Suhail, Eman Qureshi, Rida Khalid, Maheen Dada, Maheen Aftab, Ghuncha, Aleena Aftab, Oreen Khan, Noor Rashid Malik and Rida Khalid are invited f or the trials.

Depending on the number of reported players, the players will be divided into two groups and will compete against each other in a round robin format.

Two girls will be selected from each group for second phase for another round of round robin matches between the top four players.

All the players are advised to report to Inamul Haq at Syed Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex. All the probable players are advised to send their digital photo to PTF through e-mail for submission to Pakistan Olympic Association (POA).
