PTI cancelled protest drive: Sahil

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Subhan Ali Sahil on Wednesday said Karachi is the socio-economic hub of Pakistan, however continuous terrorism, extortion and target killing had ruined it physically and economically.

“Case of Baldia Town incident could not proceeded due to reconciliation policy adopted by Sindh government. In fact, the murderers are roaming in the city. Business community is being threatened to give extortion money or face death,” he said while addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club.

He said after apologizing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Husain, PTI had postponed its protests and proved to be peace-loving party. However, peace-loving policy should not be taken as weakness.

He claimed that PTI had got the mandate for Karachiites and raised issues of the city at every forum. Sahil requested law enforcement agencies to make Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report public regarding the people involved in killing of PTI leader Zuhra Aapa, Baldia incident, Tahir Plaza and incident of 12 May besides providing justice with souls of martyrs by punishing the culprits right away.

“Decision should be made out of reconciliation politics,” he said. He condemned the allegations made by MQM against PTI for affiliation with Taliban and said: “People know Who is spreading terrorism in the country and who supports act of terrorism.”

Sahil demanded that breaches from Karachi operation should be removed and investigation should be made public.
