PTI eliminates influence and recruitment from colleges and universities of province, Minister

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information & Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani Wednesday said that the PTI-Led government has eliminated political interference, influence and recruitment from public sector colleges and universities of the province, admission in all the disciplines in government colleges have been ensured transparently and merit has strictly been followed with not even a single student admitted out of merit.

Addressing as a chief guest in ceremony of the Completion of 1st batch of BS-4 years program semester at Government Post Graduate College, Mardan, he said the higher education is the key to help make nations prosper and developed, keeping in view the importance of said sector, the government is utilizing more funds on higher education from its own resources.

He said that the young generation is our hope and the government is trying its level best to provide standard education in the institution.

The provincial government has declared emergency in education sector and first time in the history of this province sizeable budgetary allocations have been made for education sector, he added.

The Minister said the 3 lac Childs have been enrolled in government schools on current year and 4 lac students will be enrolled on next curricular year to accomplish the target of 100 percent literacy rate in the province.

He said, the government has allocated 1 Billion rupees in endowment fund for providing of scholarship to needy students in the colleges and universities. Keeping in view the importance of women education, age limit has been ended for females to get admission in any degree program in Universities, he added.

At the end, he congratulated the sincere efforts of the college administration in the successful completion of 1st semester of BS program in the college and expressed his hope that the mentioned college will become the model college of the province. The chief guest distributed certificate of excellence among shiny students of the college.

The Member Provincial Assembly Zahid Durrani, Additional Secretary Higher Education department Khalid Khan, Principle Government Post Graduate College Mardan Fayyaz Ali Shah was also present in the function.
