KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday warned Sindh government that if solid steps were not taken for running of the closed water plant in Lyari forthwith, Lyariites under its banner would besiege the Chief Minister House, for which the provincial government would be responsible.
In a statement issued from PTI central media cell Karachi, PTI Member Sindh Assembly Khuram Sher Zaman said that many parts of Lyari were facing severe water shortage but due to Sindh government’s insincere attitude, water plant worth million of rupees located along Mauripur road was nonfunctional.
He said that provincial government was blaming K-Electric for nonfunctioning of the plant but after his meeting with the electric company high-ups, it disclosed that provincial government itself was responsible for closing the plant.
He urged the government to complete documentation of the plant on emergency basis and run the same as soon as possible so that water shortage issue in the area could be resolved.
