Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 58% Pakistanis have heard about Malala Yousafzai being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize; 42% have not heard about this.
A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, “Recently, Malala Yousafzai was given the Nobel Peace Prize.
Have you heard/read about this?” Responding to this question, 58% respondents said they have heard about Malala Yousafzai being given the Nobel Peace Prize, while 42% respondents said they have not heard about it.
The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2579 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during October 20 – October 27, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
