Karachi: Rameez Raja played a brilliant 106-run knock with the help of four boundaries and five sixes to help Pakistan Cricket Club record a convincing 89-run triumph against Qasmi Gymkhana and secure a place in the final of KCCA Zone-VI Abdul Badar Memorial Cricket Tournament here at KCCA Stadium.
Pakistan Cricket Club batted first in the match and put on board 342-7 in allotted 40 overs. Apart from Rameez, Akbar Ur Rehman (72 runs) and Fazal Subhan (64 runs) also batted well for the side. Waseem Ali, Amir Mohammad and Javed Kohistani took two wickets each.
Qasmi Gymkhana in response scored 253 runs before losing all of their wickets in 36.4 overs. Riaz Mirrani top scored for the side with 69 runs. Shahzaib Ahmed bowled lethally and captured a four-wicket haul.
In the other semifinal match, Alamgir Gymkhana overpowered North Shire Cricket Club by 66 runs here at Hafza Cricket Ground. Alamgir Gymkhana batted first and scored 280- 8 in 40 overs. Ehsan Ali (56 runs), Mohammad Hassan (55 runs) and Saud Shakil (52 runs) batted well for the side.
North Shire CC in response scored 214-7 using the allotted quota of 40 overs. Umar Farooq (64 runs) and Ali Jasim (50 not out) batted well for the side. Bilal Manzoor grabbed three wickets for the winning team.
