KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers on Monday produced an accused, Abdul Rafiq alias Kaein, before Anti-Terrorism Court-III (ATC-III) and informed it about his 90-day preventive detention for interrogation.
The Personnel of the paramilitary force along with their legal team produced the suspect Abdul Rafiq alias Kaein, before the ATC-IIl judge with a detention order and a jail warrant.
They informed the court that the suspect was picked up during the ongoing targeted operation in Mehammoodabad area and they had credible information about his involvement in target killing, extortion and other criminal activities.
The rangers informed the the court of detaining the suspect for 90 days for interrogation as per legal provisions Section 11EEEE (1), which was inserted under the Pakistan Protection Ordinance 2013. This amendments made to the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, have authorized the paramilitary force to detain suspects for three months for interrogations.
