Rangers infused confidence in masses: SW

KARACHI: President Society Watch (SW) Khalid Mehmood on Sunday said that Rangers has infused confidence among masses and the business community of Karachi and those who are conspiring against them are enemies of Pakistan.

Rangers have not only enforced writ of the government but also reduced crimes which has infused confidence among businessmen who are the main victims of decades of lawlessness, he said.

Khalid Mehmood said that country’s international credit worthiness cannot improve unless situation in Karachi is made better which is only possible in presence of Rangers. Life in Karachi has returned to normalcy where economic activities have gained momentum and soon this city would become darling of the investors.

The tenure of this effective and non-political institution must be increased till 2018 to ensure peace and stability, foil terror attacks and success of Pak-China economic corridor, he demanded. Gen. Bilal Akbar and his team should get additional powers due to their unprecedented success in operations against criminals as they have returned peace, he said, adding that some elements are busy in conspiring against Rangers in a bid to thrive on lawlessness again.

The crackdown should continue until terrorism and Bhatta mafia is completely eradicated. Terrorists, their facilitators and financiers are the target of the Karachi operation and Rangers should stay until achievement of all these targets, he demanded.
