Karachi: Rear Admiral Farrokh Ahmad has taken over as Commander Karachi from outgoing Vice Admiral Syed Arifullah Hussaini in an impressive change of command ceremony held at PNS BAHADUR Tuesday.
Rear Admiral Farrokh Ahmad as Commander Karachi is now in-charge of all training units of Pakistan Navy at Karachi.
Rear Admiral Farrokh Ahmad was commissioned in Operations branch of Pakistan Navy in December 1983 winning coveted Academy’s Dirk from Pakistan Naval Academy. The Admiral joined the elite Submarine Force of Pakistan Navy in July 1987 and specialized in ASM (Sub-Surface) Course from Toulon (France). The Admiral is a graduate of 25th PN Staff Course and Armed Forces War College.
His command appointments include Command of Pakistan Navy Submarines, Submarine Squadron and Commandant Pakistan Navy War College.
His salient staff appointments include, Additional Secretary-III at MoD, Director General Joint Warfare & Training at Joint Staff Headquarters and Flag Officer Sea Training.
Rear Admiral Farrokh Ahmad also served as Directing Staff at Pakistan Navy War College and Armed Forces War College, National Defence University.
In recognition of his meritorious services, the Admiral has been awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military).
At the change of command ceremony the Admiral was presented Guard of Honour and was introduced to the commanding officers of the units under COMKAR Command.
