Karachi: An Anti-Terrorism Court-III (ATC-III) on Thursday remanded an accused, Noor Muhammad alias Noora, to police custody till 29th November 2014 in murder case of five political workers.
Police produced the accused before ATC-III judge amid tight security.
Investigation officer requested the court to allow the further physical remand of accused as the police wanted to investigate him and the whereabouts of his accomplices could be ascertained and they could be arrested. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to their custody till 29 November.
According to prosecution, the accused Noor Mohammad, alias Noora, with his absconding accomplices, was allegedly involved in murder of Akhtar Hussain, Shoaib, Abdul Karim, Anwar Khan and Shams-un-Nisa of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement on Shaheed-e-Millat Road in April 2011.
Rangers personnel had picked up the suspect a few months ago and police took the custody in three other murder cases and said that during interrogations he disclosed his involvement in the present case.
A case was registered under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) , 324 (attempt to murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7of the Anti-Terrorism Act at Ferozabad police station.
