Resumption of Pak-US Strategic Dialogue to boost bilateral ties

Islamabad: Pakistan has said that resumption of Pak-US Strategic Dialogue will strengthen bilateral cooperation in key areas, including defence, investment, and energy.

This has been stated by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Jalil Abbas Jilani while speaking on “Pakistan’s Paradigm Shift” at Chicago Council on Global Affairs.

He said democracy in Pakistan is strengthening. The Ambassador said people of the country believe in basic human freedoms and the rule of law.

An independent media and an active Judiciary are clear manifestations of this trend.

Responding to questions, Jilani illustrated various measures taken by the government to improve economy and overcome energy crisis.

He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif desires peaceful relations with all neighbouring countries.
