Retired army man among three fall prey to Karachi violence

KARACHI: Three people were killed and three others injured in different violence incidents in the city, while police arrested an accused during a raid in Orangi Town on Monday.

Unknown gunmen opened fire in Kanwari Colony, Manghopir and killed a retired army man Rasool Khan. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.

According to police, a man Gujjar Khan was found dead in City Railway Station Colony within the limits of Meethadar police station. His body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for an autopsy.

Unidentified armed men killed a man in C-1 area of Liaquatabad. The body was brought to CHK for a postmortem examination.

A 20-year-old youth, Ateeq, son of Ameer Baz, was shot and injured by unknown armed culprits on Northern Bypass near Janjal Goth within limits of Gulshan-e-Maymar. The injured was rushed to ASH for treatment.

According to SSP Orangi Town, two persons belonging to a political party were shot and injured when unidentified armed men opened fire on them near Shah Faisal intersection in Orangi Town. The injured were identified as Akbar and Wajihuddin. They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment.

Taking a prompt action, police conducted raids in Pakistan Bazaar area of Orangi Town and arrested an accused who was involved in attacking the two political party workers and injuring them. The accused was identified as Noor Alam alias Munna while arms were also recovered from his possession, police sources told.
