River flows in Pakistan

Lahore: The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela-Inflows 30400 cusecs and Outflows 12000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 39100 cusecs and Outflows 39100 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla- Inflows 73500 cusecs and Outflows 10000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala- Inflows 56000 cusecs and Outflows 51200 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah-Inflows 62800 cusecs and Outflows 58900 cusecs, Chashma -Inflows 74500 cusecs and Outflows 67500 cusecs, Taunsa- Inflows 78000 cusecs and Outflows 78000 cusecs, Panjnad- Inflows 95000 cusecs and Outflows 91200, Guddu- Inflows 106800 cusecs and Outflows 106800 cusecs, Sukkur- Inflows 93800 cusecs and Outflows 72200 cusecs, Kotri- Inflows 29700 cusecs and Outflows 12900 cusecs.

Reservoirs’ Level and Storage: Tarbela – dead level 1380 feet, present level 1456.72 feet, maximum level 1550 feet, live storage 1.838 million acre feet (MAF), Mangla – dead level 1040 feet, present level 1155.15 feet, maximum level 1242 feet, live storage 2.189 MAF, Chashma- dead level 637 feet, present level 648 feet, maximum level 649 feet, live storage 0.240 MAF.

The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 a.m.
