River flows

Lahore: The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela-Inflows 35,200 cusecs and Outflows 50,000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 15,200 cusecs and Outflows 15,200 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla- Inflows 14,300 cusecs and Outflows 28,000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala- Inflows 14,200 cusecs and Outflows 7,000 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah-Inflows 67,600 cusecs and Outflows 62,800 cusecs, Chashma -Inflows 61,900 cusecs and Outflows 60,000 cusecs, Taunsa- Inflows 62,100 cusecs and Outflows 53,600 cusecs, Panjnad- Inflows 19,300 cusecs and Outflows 9,900 Guddu- Inflows81,100 cusecs and Outflows 73,700 cusecs, Sukkur- Inflows 66,500 cusecs and Outflows 29,700 cusecs, Kotri- Inflows 13,705 cusecs and Outflows Nil cusecs.

Reservoirs’ Level and Storage: Tarbela – dead level 1380 feet, present level 1527.48 feet, maximum level 1550 feet, live storage 5.195 million acre feet (MAF) Mangla – dead level 1040 feet, present level 1234.10 feet, maximum level 1242 feet, live storage 6.771 MAF, Chashma – dead level 637 feet, present level 644.70 feet, maximum level 649 feet, live storage 0.132 MAF.

The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 am.
