River inflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma

KARACHI: The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under: Rivers: Indus at Tarbela-Inflows 27,300 cusecs and Outflows 65,000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 10,400 cusecs and Outflows 10,400 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla- Inflows 11,100 cusecs and Outflows 55,000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala- Inflows 9,200 cusecs and Outflows 6,000 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah-Inflows 77,200 cusecs and Outflows 69,700 cusecs, Chashma -Inflows 71,400 cusecs and Outflows 62,000 cusecs, Taunsa- Inflows 54,500 cusecs and Outflows 46,200 cusecs, Panjnad- Inflows 8,600 cusecs and Outflows Nil Guddu- Inflows 44,200 cusecs and Outflows 37,200 cusecs, Sukkur- Inflows 37,600 cusecs and Outflows 7,700 cusecs, Kotri- Inflows 8,170 cusecs and Outflows Nil cusecs.

Reservoirs Level and Storage: Tarbela – dead level 1380 feet, present level 1501.34 feet, maximum level 1550 feet, live storage 3.876 million acre feet (MAF) Mangla – dead level 1040 feet, present level 1215.00 feet, maximum level 1242 feet, live storage 5.396 MAF, Chashma – dead level 637 feet, present level 643.30 feet, maximum level 649 feet, live storage 0.100 MAF.

The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 am.
