Rivers flow

KARACHI: The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela-Inflows 35,600 cusecs and Outflows 43,000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 13,100 cusecs and Outflows 13,100 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla- Inflows 14,300 cusecs and Outflows 28,000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala- Inflows 12,700 cusecs and Outflows 6,000 cusecs.

Barrages: Jinnah-Inflows 71,100 cusecs and Outflows 68,100 cusecs, Chashma -Inflows 61,600 cusecs and Outflows 56,000 cusecs, Taunsa- Inflows 60,800 cusecs and Outflows 52,800 cusecs, Panjnad- Inflows 97,000 cusecs and Outflows 6,500 Guddu- Inflows71,200 cusecs and Outflows 63,300 cusecs, Sukkur- Inflows 66,600 cusecs and Outflows 31,800 cusecs, Kotri- Inflows 12,220 cusecs and Outflows Nil cusecs.

Reservoirs Level and Storage: Tarbela – dead level 1380 feet, present level 1526.87 feet, maximum level 1550 feet, live storage 5.163 million acre feet (MAF) Mangla – dead level 1040 feet, present level 1233.40 feet, maximum level 1242 feet, live storage 6.717 MAF, Chashma – dead level 637 feet, present level 644.60 feet, maximum level 649 feet, live storage 0.130 MAF.

The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 am.
