Rule of law: 6.5acre land of first law varsity still encroached

Karachi: Six and half acres of land of the first law university of Pakistan, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto University of Law Karachi in Korangi area are still encroached and without their removal the work of construction of main campus of this university could not start.

The government has earmarked a 13.10 acre plot in Survey No.10 Korangi for construction of the main campus, but 6.5 acres of this land is still under encroachments. There is a plan to construct the main campus on this land at a cost of Rs1145million

It is planned that this university would start regular classes from July 2014 and initially it will offer admissions in faculty of social sciences and faculty of law. In next fiscal year more campuses would be constructed in Islamabad, Sukkur, Larkana and Hyderabad.
