Ruling Ittehad Founders Group clean sweeps in polls

SIALKOT: The ruling Ittehad Founders’ Group, today, swept clean and won all the five seats of SCCI Associate Class by knocking out rival Democratic Founders’ Group, during the annual elections of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here Thursday.

There were total 1779 registered votes of SCCI Associate Class who cast their votes. Out of which, 810 votes were cast and turn out remained 45 percent.

According to the SCCI Election Commissioner Sheikh Naveed Iqbal, Maj (Rtd) Mansur Ahmed, Adnan Arshad Sethi, Mian Babar Ali, Ashir Elahi and Umer Khalid against opposition’s Mirza Ayaz Baig, Mohammad Iqbal Asad, Zarar Ahmed Dar, Rehan Bin Tahir Mughal and Mohammad Tahir Siddique were elected as members of SCCI Associate Class with a big margin of votes.

The peaceful, impartial, transparent and independent polling was held at SCCI for the annual elections of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here.

The newly elected members of SCCI Executive Committee were garlanded during a special welcoming ceremony held at SCCI Auditorium here.

Greeting the winners, the Group Leader Riazud Din Sheikh announced that the Ittehad Founders Group has swept clean and won all the five seats of SCCI Corporate Class and five seats of Associate Class by knocking out the rival Democratic Founders’ Group.
