KHAIRPUR: The 56th session of Advance Meeting & Research Board (ASRB) was held at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur on Thursday, which was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Parveen Shah.
Addressing the meeting, Dr Parveen said: “It is high time that we must prioritize the research and innovation, and it is the task of all stakeholders to work hard for the pursuit of research excellence.” It is matter of high pride that during little tenure, the separate Directorate of Post Graduate Studies was established to streamline the research culture and provide directions and proper guidelines to the research scholars, which is rendering marvellous services according to parameters set by the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad.
The meeting discussed various issues and recommended following awards in which 16 MPhil, for MS and one PhD degrees were awarded to the research scholars in various fields. The ASRB recommended to award the PhD degree to Ali Hassan Halipoto in the field of Commerce, MPhil degree to Riaz Hussain Mari, Maqsood Ahmed Lakho, Ms. Zahida Parveen Markhand, Khan Mohammad Zangejo, Nizamuddin Tunio, Nazeer Ahmed Soomro, and Mohammad Iqbal Tunio in the field of Botany, while Miss Farzana Jabeen Khoso, Zamir Ali Chandio, Khan Mohammad Malik, Atta Hussain Rind, Abdul Hameed Kori and Miss Naseem Khatoon Bhatti were also recommended for award of MPhil degree in the field of Chemistry.
Ghulam Mohammad Mangnejo, Inayatullah Bhatti and Zulfiqar Ali Jalbani were recommended for the award of MPhil degree in the field of Economics, Pakistan Studies and Sindhi respectively. The Board also recommended to award MS degrees to Ms Nighat Parveen Shaikh and Waqar Ali Narejo in the field of Computer Science while MS degrees were awarded to Miss Saeeda Anjum Buriro and Hussain Amar Dayo in the fields of Zoology and Commerce respectively. The ASRB also appointed 11 research supervisors for MS/M Phil and PhD in various fields.
