KHAIRPUR; Shah Abdul Latif University’s (SALU) Department of Business Administration in collaboration with Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Sindh and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) organized a one-day training workshop on “Youth Entrepreneurship” at the university premises.
The workshop was aimed at stimulating students to get better understanding of entrepreneurship skills and potential to execute ideas to turn into viable business.
Prof Dr Lutfullah Mangi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, SALU Shikarpur Campus, while inaugurated the workshop, said that the workshop will be beneficial for youth in operating their own business.
He said their university had grown academically and in term of capacity building. “Our youth are future leaders of the nation, he added.
Prof Dr Iram Rani, Chairperson, the department, welcomed the guests and appreciated the collaborative efforts made by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and SMEDA. She said, “Our students possess high potential and curiosity about learning.
Dr Iram dsof this training workshop will enhance the sustainable development of the fepartment.
Saleem Ahmed Siddiqui, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, briefed about the achievements of his department, saying the purpose of the department to prmote youth.
Syeda Umme Farwa Rizvi, Trainee of the workshop said, “We have learnt methodology for establishment of new business. The ideas of trainers were value-added and it was fully splendid and remarkable workshop.”
During the workshop, various modules were discussed like understanding enterprise, development bright business ideas, developing initial business plan, role of Micro-finance Bank, networking with people, role of SMEDA and entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurial traits.
The students prepared business plans in groups. They prepared business plans about market, management and operational strategies, production premises and financial plan.
Syed Babar Umar, Management Associate, SMEDA and Farooque Ali, Corporate Trainer, delivered their presentationd and trained the students.
