Secretary Information chairs Apex Committee meeting

QUETTA: Balochistan Government believes in freedom of journalism and lauds its positive role in the society.

This was stated by Provincial Secretary Information Abdullah Jan while chairing a meeting to reviewing role of Media with regards of National Security Plan here Thursday. Representatives of electronic and print media as well as News Agencies attended.

Secretary Information briefed Media representatives of Media role discussed with Federal Minister for Information during meetings of APNS, CPNE, PBA and others. He also briefed them about decisions taken at the provincial Apex Committee meeting.

Secretary Information said government accord importance to its relations with Media and desires to further strengthen them. He said despite difficult situation journalists were discharging their obligations with bravery and honestly. Media’s role for promotion of harmony in the society has been appreciable.

Media Houses representatives said that Balochistan is very difficult area for journalism and despite difficult situation journalists perform their professional obligation amicably. Efforts are made to publish and air any new after its verification and this would be continued onwards.

They also gave suggestions for security of Media institutions and Journalists.
