Seepage occurs in Nusrat Loop Bund

NAUNDERO: Seepage has occurred in Indus River Nusrat Loop Bund near Bhambho Shaikh village since last night. This dyke has already been declared sensitive by the irrigation & district administration but a visit to it showed that there was no irrigation official who were directed to look after the Bund round the clock. The villagers of nearby villages are themselves monitoring it and they informed the local Journalists to visit the area. Villagers Nadir Shaikh, Imdad Shaikh and others told Media team that Irrigation authorities have left the dyke unattended and they are not monitoring it due to which they are constantly keeping eye over it because water is rising constantly and its flow is very fast.

They said that they are passing nights sleepless due to the sensitiveness of the dyke which is seeping from villages Ghulam Ali Shaikh and Bhambho Shaikh up to one furlong but nobody is paying any heed towards it. They demanded that the Bund must be repaired immediately otherwise it can cause flood which may damage entire localities including Naundero & Garhi Khuda Bux.

Meanwhile, on the report of Larkana Division Commissioner, Sindh Government has directed Assistant Commissioner, Ratodero, Suhail Soomro to report to S&GACD, Karachi.

The Commissioner had reported against him that he is constantly absent from his Government duties during on-going serious flood situation. Soomro has been relived off & has been directed to report to Karachi. He was also looking after the charge of AC, Bakrani taluka. On the other hand, after sensitive position, the Mukhtiarkar, Ratodero, Niaz Siyal, has closed down link road for all kinds of traffic due to seriousness of bridges on this road. The road is going to village Burira, to Indus River, by keeping bushes over the road.
