Seminar on solid waste management on Thursday

KARACHI: Managing Director Solid Waste Management Board Sindh Roshan Ali Sheikh on Tuesday said the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) in collaboration with Karachi Metropolitan Corporation would hold a multi-stakeholders consultation seminar on ‘Karachi Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management Plan’ on Thursday.

Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Administrator Karachi Saqib Soomro and President FPCCI would address the seminar.

Solid Waste Management Board Sindh would brief the participants, while district municipal corporations, cantonment boards, Karachi Port Trust, Lahore Waste Management Company, local government department, environment department, sanitation companies, consultants and other stakeholders would give their presentations. In the end, suggestions by the experts would be submitted for solid waste management.

The managing director thanked the commissioner, the administrator and president FPCCI and said the seminar had much importance regarding solid waste management of the city. Expert advices in the seminar would prove to be very helpful.
