Senate: (Construction of Peshawar-Kabul Motorway initiated: Senate told)

ISLAMABAD: Preliminary work has been initiated for construction of Peshawar-Kabul Motorway by National Highway Authority (NHA).

This was stated by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed while replying to a question in the Senate on Tuesday. He said NHA is in process of appointing consultant to undertake detailed feasibility study and primary design.

To another question, he said the proposed extension of expressway from Murree to Muzaffarabad is planned to be constructed into two sections. NHA has already taken up the feasibility study and detailed design for extension of four lane expressway from Lower Topa to Kohala.

He said under instructions of Prime Minister feasibility study of expressway from Muzaffarabad to Kohala and further to Mirpur, Mangla and Deena have been completed and it may be taken up this year.
