Senate: (Unaccounted for gas constitutes 10% of total gas supply: Senate told)

ISLAMABAD: The Senate was informed on Wednesday that federal government departments and private consumers owe over Rs 185 billion on account of electricity bills.

Minister for Water and Power told the House in a written reply that over Rs 58 billion are payable by the federal government while over 127 billion rupees are pending against private consumers.

Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said unaccounted for gas constitutes ten percent of the total gas supply. He said gas worth Rs 30 billion is taken away through illegal connections in some districts of KP every year.
