ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan was held here on Wednesday.
The Chairman of the Committee Sajid Mir presided over the meeting. In his briefing, Director General South Asia of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammad Faisal reiterated Pakistan’s moral, political and diplomatic support to the just cause of Kashmiri people.
Dr. Faisal said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his speeches at the UN forcefully highlight the Kashmir issue and the need to resolve it for peace in South Asia.
He said Pakistan and India agreed on the occasion of Heart of Asia Conference on Comprehensive bilateral dialogue to resolve the outstanding issues including Kashmir.
Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Chaudhary Barjees Tahir said Solidarity Day on 5th of February will be celebrated with enthusiasm.
Leader of the House in Senate Raja Zafarul Haq stressed the need for measures to create awareness among the new generation about Kashmir dispute and Pakistan’s stance on the issue.
