Senior minister visits former minister in Karachi jail

KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister for Information Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Monday met with convicted leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh Syed Ali Nawaz Shah in Karachi Central Jail and discussed the verdict issued by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sindh against the former minister, as well as, current political situation.

Addressing a media briefing outside the Karachi Central Jail, Senior Minister alleged that it is political revenge to convict the former minister in old cases of NAB pertaining to Left Bank Outfall Drain (LBOD) project funds. He said such actions by NAB put question mark on the performance of NAB.

He claimed that Shah was convicted because of his honesty. He said they have filed a petition in Sindh High Court (SHC) against NAB Court’s verdict.

He said his party reserves the right to knock the door of courts.

He alleged that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is involved in blame game. He said after the provincial autonomy, Sindh has right on its natural gas. He warned if the federation and or any institute try to snatch this right forcibly they would resist.
