Shah off for Cuba to feature in Judo Grand ‹‹Prix

Karachi: Shah Hussain Shah left for Cuba on Wednesday to feature in Judo Grand Prix, which has started on January 20 in Havana, Cuba.

The world ranking of Shah Hussain Shah is 44. Pakistan Judo officials claim that if Shah featured in international tournaments regularly just his other international counterparts do, his ranking would have been much improved.

The President of Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) Col. Rana Shujaat Ali hoped that Shah would put strong show in Havana and improve his world ranking ahead of 2016 Rio Olympic to be held in Brazil.

Shah is also expected to participate in Grand Slam to be held in Paris, France from February 4 to 11.

I am hopeful that Shah will secure his berth in 2016 Rio Olympics by participating in upcoming international events regularly, Masood Ahmad, PJF secretary said.
