Karachi: Shaharyar Ghani knocked a century scoring 114 runs with the help of 11 boundaries and three sixes to help Pakistan Cricket Club record a massive 181-run victory against Orangi Star Cricket Club and secure a place in the semifinals of KCCA Zone VI Abdul Badar Memorial Cricket Tournament here at KCCA Stadium.
Pakistan Cricket Club batted first in the quarterfinal clash and scored a big total of 306-8 in stipulated 40 overs. Shaharyar batted impressively scoring whirlwind 114-run inning. Nadeem Javed (75 runs) also batted well. Mohammad Ejaz captured a three-wicket haul.
Orangi Star Cricket Club in reply scored a paltry total of 125 runs losing all of their wickets in 20.2 overs. Shakil-ur-Rehman top scored for the side with 53 runs. Shahzaib Ahmed Khan bowled lethally and captured a four-wicket haul.
In another quarterfinal match played at Afza Ground, North Shire Cricket Club thrashed City Gymkhana by six wickets – thanks to Kamran Khan, who captured a six-wicket haul restricting City Gymkhana to 160-10 in 35.3 overs and later scored 56 runs.
