Sharjeel condemns forced closure of TV channels

KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has condemned closure of news channels by force in different regions including Hyderabad and Karachi. In a statement, he said that forced closure of media would not be allowed to succeed at any cost. He said that cable operators should not afraid of anyone.

He said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is guardian of media freedom. We do not make oral claims but we proved in previous government that we did not closed any TV channel despite media trial of PPP government. He said media is fourth pillars of the country and PPP would not let any undemocratic act to succeed.
