Sharmila remembers legendary singer Mehdi Hassan

KARACHI: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Culture and Tourism Ms Sharmila Faruqui lauded the contributions made by late King of Ghazals Mehdi Hassan for film and music industry.

She said that Mehdi Hassan brought a vast transformation in Gazal singing, and it is unlikely that a singer of his caliber may born again and could substitute him. This she said in her statement on the 2nd death anniversary of the late singer.

She added that Mehdi Hassan was a legend of his time and will always be remembered as an artist par excellence. He did his best to promote Pakistan all over the world by his singing. His ghazals and songs for Pakistani films were truly outstanding.

She informed that Sindh culture department is planning to organize a program to pay splendid tribute to this legendry singer. His services in singing will be remembered for ever.
