SHC seeks JIT report on MA Shaikh’s missing

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday directed the home department to present a complete report of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) within three weeks on a petition seeking whereabouts of Mohammad Ali Shaikh, a front man of famous Sindh personality.

On Thursday’s hearing home department filed a preliminary JIT report and stated that JIT’s meeting was held on 18 August to locate the whereabouts of Shaikh, but they needed three more weeks to complete the report.

Mohammad Ali Shaikh, reportedly a big fish of corruption in Sindh and front man of famous Sindh personality, went missing on 18 June 2015 from Karachi airport.

The petition filed by Shaikh’s guard Mohammad Haroon, and Mohammad Aslam stated that Shaikh went missing on 18 June when he was going to the US via Dubai. They pleaded the court to direct respondents to produce Mohammad Ali Shaikh before the court.

According to preliminary JIT report submitted with the court, first session of JIT was held on 18 August.
